Singapore Airshow: Ex-U.S. Senator Martinez Joins MPX
By Wendell Minnick
SINGAPORE - Former U.S. Senator Mel Martinez has joined the board of directors of Florida-based Military Parts Exchange (MPX).
Martinez said he would be helping the company expand its market base into Spain and Latin America. Martinez, who was also a former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, served on the Armed Services Committee while a senator.
"We welcome Senator Martinez to MPX. I know he will make a great contribution as MPX executes its growth strategy," said Eric Klar, MPX president.
The company is an international supplier of non-munition military aircraft parts and equipment in support of a wide variety of fixed-wing and rotary aircraft platforms.
In August, MPX bought Dynatech International Corp., an international distributor of engine components for military aircraft. Dynatech provides aerospace component supply chain management and value-added logistics in support of maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities and foreign governments.
